COÖS CYCLING CLUB
All Hands On Deck
With over 25 miles of singletrack and machine-built flow, the Coös
Trails network is perhaps the best kept secret in White Mountains
mountain biking—an outstanding mix of cross-country and gravity-fed riding overseen by a small group of members and volunteers
dedicated to building new trail, maintaining existing terrain, and
introducing new participants to the sport.
Supporting the club’s fundraising efforts, the 3rd annual Frost Heave backcountry
mountain bike race will be held on May 17th in Jericho Mountain State Park. This
unique early-season event is held on a diverse network of trails, with participants
experiencing challenging climbs, rugged descents, and excellent views. Short-course
(13 miles) and long-course (27 miles) options are available. Register at www.bikereg.
com/frostheave.
Youth Shred Camp kicks off in June, offering a very affordable full week of mountain
bike programming for local youth, ages 10-14, on the Coös Trails. Group Rides are held
every Wednesday evening throughout the summer/fall, meeting at Moose Brook State
Park in Gorham at 5:30 p.m. All are welcome. For adults new to the sport, check out
Saturday morning Chill Rides, a no-pressure way to start your mountain biking journey.

BETHLEHEM TRAILS ASSOCIATION
Volunteers are the backbone of this trail network
Volunteers are the backbone of this trail network, and their contributions are vital to its success. Anyone can volunteer—regardless of age,
identity, or skill set. Bethlehem Trails Association welcomes everyone
to join the community and contribute in whatever way they can.
Volunteering can be as simple as reporting trail conditions, working
at fundraising events, or helping out with the Gear Library.
The Gear Library is a shed that works just like a traditional
library, but instead of books, you can borrow outdoor gear, such as bikes, backpacks, hiking
poles, and more. It’s their way of making outdoor activities accessible to everyone in the
community. The Gear Library is now located at 2297 Main Street,
Bethlehem in the main Bethlehem Elementary School parking lot.

GREAT GLEN TRAILS
Celebrating 25 Years | August 2-3, 2025
Big Day Brewing 24 Hours of Great Glen, the most beloved and
iconic mountain bike race in New England, returns again in 2025.
This year’s theme is going under the sea for the race, camping,
parties, kids events, live music and bash, celebrating the most
delicious suds around made by Big Day Brewing.
The course itself is a roughly 9-mile loop that winds its way
around the carriage roads, doubletrack, bridges, and technical
singletrack at the base of Mt. Washington. The course features
challenging segments, such as the infamous floating bridge over the Glen Pond.
Racers can join in any of the race categories. There are no minimum
lap requirements per racer. Ride as many laps as you can in 24 or 12 hours.
