Limmer Facts
years
Alongside Adam Lane-Olsen, Chris Sawyer owns Limmer

a company in Germany.
Peter Limmer & Sons, Inc. was established in 1919, and has
been based in Intervale since 1950.
Find your peak.
Any hike. Any day.
At the same time that Adam bought Peter Limmer & Sons
from Peter Limmer in 2021, Karl Limmer also sold Limmer
Boots Inc. to Chris Sawyer.
Over the decades, the shop has accumulated a trove of
personal letters from customers who have shared their
experiences wearing Limmers.
Adam’s son, Monroe Lane-Olsen, has begun working at
the shop part time.
Prior to Adam’s traveling, 80% of their clients were New
Englanders, and 20% non-New Englanders. Today, that
ratio is roughly 50-50%.
Limmers are unique for their single-piece upper leather construction, which increases their malleability and durability.
The design of a Limmer boot has changed very minimally
throughout its history.
Peter Limmer & Sons recently became members of the
Shoe Service Institute of America—an organization
dedicated to furthering the shoe repair industry.
Unlike most modern hiking boots, Limmers can be
resoled numerous times.

While Peter Limmer & Sons may appear new in the world
of boutique leather fashion, the company began at a time
when handcrafted leather footwear was the standard.
Limmer Boots represent a mindset that rejects the philosophy behind today’s “fast-fashion” trend.
For the last two years, Limmer-wearers have gathered for
Limmer Fest in the summer to celebrate a shared love for
the boot.
