west. Thus, Pro Tune was born! Located in beautiful downtown Glen, NH
in the previous Margarita Grille building, stands a pub that is in essence,
a Swiss Army Knife. Jeremiah, Julie, and their team of professional ski and
bike techs have provided a location that has the soul of an Irish pub, with
a nonchalant and relaxed vibe, the homeyness of ham sandwiches and
soup, the fun of live entertainment several days a week for après ski (as
well as evening entertainment), and the high-end technical prowess of an
Olympic cycling/skiing team. The combination of these services creates a
unique experience.
“Jeremiah and Muzz rode so much and so hard, they honed their skills
out of necessity. They broke everything to find out what was the best way
to fix it,” said original employee, Dave Chandler. Dave does the receiving/
ordering, organizing, and general extra handwork, and has been with Pro
Tunes since its start. He says it’s “super relaxed with a close-knit staff and
friend-driven community.”
Also on the team, and a long-time associate and partner of Jeremiah,
is Darren. Darren is a bike builder and fabricator and has his own line of
very high-end niche bikes titled Wraith. He started with Jeremiah in 2000
and is known for “everything bikes.” His skills include repair and groundup fabrication when nothing else will do.
“I’m into the knowledge of the team here. They are top-of-the-game
when it comes to bikes and skis. We can make things work under any
circumstances,” exclaims Darren, whose passion for the sports he caters
to is apparent.
Under all of this, which is already an amazing feat, Jeremiah and the
team have been continuing to ramp up their music offerings as well. The
Beaches had spent many years working and catering bluegrass festivals
in Colorado, and hope to continue to offer high-end entertainment all
year. They currently have solos, duos, and trios in the pub. Summer
music happens on Fridays and Saturdays from 6 to 8 p.m. Winter music
is on Fridays from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sundays from 4 to 6 p.m. They do offer
special events, and music times and performances may vary, so be sure to
check them out online or via your local listings to get an updated schedule. They also intend to expand offerings, hoping to include dinners and a
show in the near future.
As you prepare for or enjoy winter in the Mt. Washington Valley,
stop by Pro Tune on your travels for a beer, a sandwich, and live
entertainment. And remember to tune your bike or skis while you’re
there. Cheers!
